Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final – Let’s take a look at the horses

Let's delve into the lineup of horses for the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final 2024 in Riyadh. This prestigious event will see a total of 35 athletes accompanied by 41 remarkable horses, each representing their country and the studbooks that have nurtured them since foalhood.

The Dutch Studbook KWPN leads the pack with seven representatives, followed closely by the German studbook OS with six, and the Belgian Studbook ZANG with five. The French studbook SF, Swedish SWB, Belgian BWP, and German HANN each have four horses in the competition. The German HOLST follows with three, while the Belgian SBS, Scottish SSH, German WESTF, Irish ISH, and Estonian ESHB each have one entry.

Noteworthy mentions include the SF-bred stallion Zirocco Blue VDL, represented by three offspring: Jaguar King WD, Eddie Blue, and Elysium. Cardento also boasts notable offspring, namely Catch Me Not S, being partnered with Peder Fredricson. The lineage traces back to his father Ingvar Fredricson, who introduced the Holsteiner-bred stallions Cardento and Quite Easy to Sweden, the latter being damsire to How Easy and Is-Minka.

Further examination of lineage reveals the significant impact of stallions like Cardento, Cassini I, Berlin, Mylord Carthago, and Cap Kennedy, all representing the Capitol I Sire line. Cardento and Cassini I are direct sons, while the other three are grandsons. Quite Easy shares the same maternal line as Capitol I. These stallions are all represented in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final through their direct offspring. Building on our previous discussion about Cardento's offspring, let's now delve into the horses in the order of the mentioned stallions: Belano vd Wijnhoeve Z, Dexter de Kerglenn, Is-Minka, and Dallas Vegas Batilly.

Casual DV Z, bred by Pieter Devos and his parents, is a notable Zangersheide-bred horse. She combines Cornet Obolensky with Pieter's former 1m60 mare, Just Me D.

Furthermore, three horses are products of Gestüt Lewitz, owned by Paul Schockemöhle: Spacecake, London Eye, and Quincy 230. It's worth mentioning that Gestüt Lewitz breeds over 1000 foals annually. King Edward, on the other hand, is bred by Wim Impens, who typically breeds two foals per year.
